Credential Transparency

The registry has been designed to help users search, discover, and compare credentials to meet their specific needs. Employers find information on both the candidate’s skills and qualifications as well as the education and training program’s quality and validity. It provides everyone with a better understanding of how credentials and careers connect to best prepare for the current and emerging workplace. 

The Mission 

At PSEL, we concur with Credential Engine’s mission to bring transparency and literacy to all credentials in the marketplace. The registry houses common, searchable, and comparable information about all credentials – from diplomas, badges, and certificates – to licenses, certifications, and degrees. The focus for our clients, is on those professional competencies that anyone needs to possess for the highest success no matter what field of interest or job trade they may find themselves in. This is to help each client that goes through any of our programs to be career ready. Additionally, since it is delivered virtually, it is conveniently accessible to all.

I really like that this program gives you what the schools lack – Real Experience! I was able to take the competency certifications earned and use them in my resume which helped me get my first job as a technician with the Geek Squad. Introducing Our Core Competencies

Currently, each competency is categorized into three skill-related groups to help individuals identify which capabilities are needed most based on the desired area of interest. These groups consist of Business/Technical, Personal/Intrapersonal, and Relational/Interpersonal and are delivered through our curriculum we call the Professional Edge Platform©.


Accountability is perceiving responsibility for all of one’s work activities and personal actions while following through on commitments. It involves implementing decisions that have been agreed upon while maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information. One should acknowledge and learn from one’s mistakes without blaming others while recognizing the impact of one’s behavior on others. Individuals should be able to achieve results with little oversight. Ownership of one’s action is the expectation and norm for engaging with individuals across teams.

Project Management

Project Management incorporates planning, organizing, and managing resources to produce successful completion of a project. Being able to manage one’s own time, set priorities, and attain resources to achieve goals. This behavior-based certification provides the experience and opportunity to learn and demonstrate the ability to plan, execute, control, and accomplish team goals while maintaining customer satisfaction with the guidance of a one-on-one coach while on the job.


Decision Making

Decision making utilizes sound judgment to formulate decisions based upon data that has been collected and evaluated. It involves assessing the importance, urgency, and risk associated with each situation and make timely, informed decisions that take into consideration the facts, goals, constraints, and options have been considered before deciding to utilize the most suitable action(s) that are in the best interest of the individual and/or organization.


Professionalism is having the ability to exhibit and encourage the conduct and behaviors that are consistent with agency and governmental standards. To have the ability to assist others to be committed to furthering the organization’s objectives.

Planning and Implementation

Planning/Implementation plans and organizes work activities while being able to manage several tasks at one time. Having the ability to coordinate ideas and resources to achieve goals.

Business Politics

This assessment and behavior-based certification provides the experience and opportunity to learn and demonstrate the ability to understand and utilize social power and networking within the organization to create positive change that affects the organization as a whole, as a group within, or for individuals within the organization.

Corporate Culture

This assessment and behavior-based certification provides the experience and opportunity to learn and demonstrate the ability to identify different corporate culture styles in self and in the workplace and understand the value impact it has on a workplace and in overall workplace satisfaction for the individual.

Critical Analytical Thinking

Critical Analytical Thinking is necessary for interpreting, breaking down, and analyzing complex data required to accomplish the activities of an organization. This is necessary to examine data to grasp issues, draw conclusions, and solve problems.

Business Applications

Business Application aligns the direction, products, services, and performance of a business line with the rest of the organization. Seeks ways to employ technology to optimize individual and organizational performance.

Innovation & Creative Thinking

Innovation which may also be referred to as Creative Thinking is the development of new opportunities, ideas, and solutions for problems by observing beyond current practices and utilizing innovative thinking to all types of workplace challenges.

Persistence & Resilience

Resilience/Persistence is having the ability to adapt to change, while considering new approaches. Being accustomed to changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities.


Leadership is initiating responsibility for leading, directing and managing any organizational change. Being able to advocate organizational mission, goals, and has the ability to demonstrate how to achieve them.

Business Ethics

Business Ethics utilizes integrity and respect for personal and organizational practices. It is comprised of respecting democratic, professional, ethical and individual values while constructing respectful, bilingual, diverse, and inclusive places of work. Ensuring decisions and transactions are transparent and rational. Earning the trust of others, respect through consistent honesty and professionalism; whereas, remaining accountable for all interactions.

Stress Management

Stress Management is to achieve better outcomes, both at work and in one’s personal life that can be attained by realistically organizing time and utilizing self-management habits that may assist in leading to increased productivity on and off of the job. Being able to maintain efficiently attain composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.  

Time Management

This is the ability to use one’s time effectively or productively, especially at work. Time management is the key to efficient working. Good time management allows you to accomplish more in a shorter period of time, which leads to more free time, which lets you take advantage of learning opportunities, lowers your stress, and helps you focus, which leads to more career success.

Effective Communication

Effective communication is the ability to express oneself clearly and effectively when speaking and/or writing to individuals or groups while being able to listen attentively ensuring that the information is comprehended by all parties. Information is shared in a timely manner, utilizing the most appropriate method to convey ideas and facts orally using language the audience will best understand.

Human Relations

Human relations develop and maintain effective relationships with others while relating well with others from varied backgrounds and within different situations. Is able to express understanding, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness. Encourages constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.

Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence or EQ is the ability to be aware of, understand, express, and control one’s emotional reactions as well as understand and interpret the emotional responses of others with empathy. It involves being self-aware, as well as being aware of, and interpreting body language and voice inflections in others. EQ utilizes additional competencies; effective communication, ethics, and critical thinking and improves professionalism and human relation competency skills. EQ also works to support stress management and resiliency skills.

Persuasion & Negotiation

Negotiation/Persuasion is understanding the necessity for change and helps plan for and accommodate it as creatively and positively, as possible. Being able to attain deals and/or comprises on an individual basis. 


Coachability is being able to empower co-workers to grow and succeed through feedback, instruction, and encouragement.


Teamwork is generally understood as the willingness of a group of people to work together to achieve a common aim. This means someone has the interests of the team at heart, working for the good of the team
